Toes!

Day 28!

Henry is turning out to be a pretty good baby. We think we'll keep him.

Great Gram and Nana Myra came up to visit last weekend; Aunt Liza and Uncle Lonnie are on their way up today. We've had lots of company - everyone wants to meet Henry!

Thursday, May 20

Amazing weather in Toronto, 80's and sunny! We sat on the porch and admired the beautiful flowers Papa Andrew planted the day after Henry arrived.

Then Henry and Jake took me for a walk on the Boardwalk. Henry finally decided it was OK to take a nap in his buggy.

Finished the day with Henry's second favorite activity, Bath Time!

Wednesday, May 19

Henry's personal body guard. Jakey licked Henry's ear and snuggled up for a nap.

Such a serious face! Maybe he's concerned about the fact he's wearing a night gown? At least it's blue. Thanks Grandma K!

The indispensible Boppy pillow! A must have for babies and Mom's.

Henry has the hiccups!

Day 12

It was 2 weeks ago right now, that I turned to Tara and asked, "are you in pre-labor?" She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I dunno". 3 hours from now, she was 3 minutes apart and we were a few hours from leaving for the hospital. It was very thoughful of Tara to wait until I got home from work, on a Friday no less. And to wait until after dinner and a movie. Very convenient for me. Here's a few new pics. Hope everyone is well.

More Henry...

Day 11

Sorry no posts for a couple of days. Henry has been confined to the few basic activities of sleeping, eating, pooping and screaming. He does a great job of sleeping in chunks. Last night, he went down at 10 pm. Tara woke him up at 3 for a midnight snack, and he sacked out again until 7. I would like to think that's a pattern we could sustain, but that may be a bit naive.

In his 11 short days, he has met all of his grandparents and an aunt an uncle. He is quite the attraction.

Day 5

And now, a name for this little bugger...
Henry Benjamin Kaasa
It took us 5 days to come up with it, but it fits him well. For the record, Henry means "ruler of the house"...which is clearly the case with him.

Day 4

My home boy threw up his first gang sign today. A-Town Down! Check it out. He's even got the knit cap pulled up nice and high. What up dog! Whoop-Whoop!! Here he is showing Lil John how it's done...

Day 3

This kid can really sleep! We had a pretty good night - he snoozed from midnight until 5 am. I hope this isn't just a fluke, but it's too soon to tell. He had an extremely impressive moment this afternoon. Tara and I were changing him, and I decided to take a few naked pictures of the tyke. He sent a pretty clear signal of disapproval by peeing straight up in the air. Great range on this kid - it shot up a good 2.5 feet in the air. That's my boy.

Day 2 - Chillin' & Swaddlin'

Jake meets Baby No Name

Listen to Tara give Mark a little "perspective" on his contributions...

Day 2

After 31 hours of labor and 30 hours of observation in the hospital, we are finally home. Mom and baby No Name are doing great. I knew Tara was a strong woman, but she took it to a new level this time. Here are some pics and videos from the last 2 days.
